The Citizenship Office has been formally established and today launches its official website at citizenship.gov.vin, where guidance on applying for citizenship, the Register of Citizens and the ceremony schedule are published.

About the Office

The Citizenship Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network determines applications for citizenship of the Velocity Interoperability Network, maintains the Register of Citizens and holds the ceremonies at which new citizens make the affirmation.

It publishes the requirements for each route to citizenship, issues certificates of citizenship and certified extracts of the Register, and reports quarterly on the applications it receives and determines.

Milestones

  1. 6 September 2026

    Office established

    Responsibility for determining applications for citizenship, maintaining the Register of Citizens, holding ceremonies and issuing certificates passed from member organisations to the Office.

  2. 6 September 2026

    citizenship.gov.vin launched

    Guidance on eligibility and residence, the steps of the application process and the schedule of ceremonies published on the official website.

  3. 6 September 2026

    Register opened and ceremony schedule published

    The Register of Citizens opened for certified extracts with 8,740 entries, six ceremonies were scheduled to 14 November 2026, and the Office published its first statistical release.

  4. Forthcoming

    First quarterly report and the ceremony schedule for 2027

    The Office's first full quarterly statistical release, covering the quarter ending 31 December 2026, and the schedule of ceremonies for the first half of 2027 will be announced in the Newsroom.
