Press Release
Citizenship Office Publishes Ceremony Schedule to November 2026
Office of the Spokesperson

The Citizenship Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network today published the schedule of its first citizenship ceremonies. Six ceremonies will be held between Saturday 19 September and Saturday 14 November 2026 at five principal sites of the Network, offering 540 places in all. The dates, venues and places available at each ceremony are set out on the Applying for Citizenship page of this site.
An applicant whose application has been approved is invited to the next ceremony at which a place is available, ordinarily at the site nearest the applicant's recorded address of residence. Invitations are issued by email seven days before the ceremony and must be accepted within three days so that unclaimed places can be offered to other applicants.
At the ceremony each applicant makes the affirmation of citizenship before the presiding officer, receives a certificate of citizenship and is entered in the Register of Citizens with effect from the date of the ceremony. Guests are welcome; the number of guests each new citizen may bring is set by the capacity of the venue and is stated in the invitation.
Applicants who cannot attend the ceremony to which they are invited should write to the Office, which will offer a place at a later ceremony. An approved application does not lapse because a ceremony is missed.
